George Reinblatt
Book, Lyrics & Music

Toronto’s own George Reinblatt is quickly establishing himself as one of this country’s hottest comedy writers. Over the past few years, George has written for the likes of John Cleese, Tina Fey, William Shatner, Kelly Ripa, Jason Alexander, Howie Mandel, George Lopez, Jim Belushi, Tom Arnold, Tim Allen, Dame Edna, Craig Ferguson, and many more comedic greats at the JUST FOR LAUGHS COMEDY FESTIVAL in Montreal. George has also written for television programs such as CANADA’S WALK OF FAME and Rick Mercer’s MONDAY REPORT. EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL is George’s first stage production.

Frank Cipolla
Music & Music Supervision

Frank has performed percussion, keyboards & electric bass for more than 15 years while concurrently studying at the Royal Conservatory of Music program. He recently music directed/arranged York University’s Mock Trial Law School Revue and Queen’s Players Toronto’s The Apprentice Bride. Frank’s passion for performing has translated into a talent for arts management. He holds an M.B.A. in Arts & Media Management and has been the General Manager of numerous arts organizations. Frank would like to thank Anne-Katherine Dionne for her musical wisdom and guidance over the years. This is Frank’s first musical.

Christopher Bond
Music & Additional Lyrics

He has been developing and directing Evil Dead with his partners since 2002, including the show’s US debut Off-Broadway (nominated for an Outer Critics Circle Award for Best New Musical) and its triumphant return to Canada at the Diesel Playhouse (Winner of the 2007 Dora Mavor Moore Audience Choice Award) which also received a Dora nomination for Outstanding Direction of a Musical. Christopher was also a cast member of Tony & Tina’s Wedding at Second City Toronto and directed the horror spectacle FearFest at Paramount’s Canada’s Wonderland.

Melissa Morris
Music

Melissa is a graduate of Queen’s University with a double major in both Music and Theatre. EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL is her second musical production, also having composed a musical adaptation of ALICE IN WONDERLAND. She is also an actor and singer, performing in Ontario and internationally. Melissa also loves teaching and inspiring young people to perform.

Joel Cochrane

Ryan Luhning
Artistic Director, Ground Zero Theatre

Ryan has been the Artistic Director of Ground Zero Theatre since its inception 1997. He is an actor, director and producer. His work has been seen on many of Calgary's professional stages and he has been nominated for three Betty Mitchell Awards for Acting. Favorite theatre credits include: BOY GETS GIRL & THE OPTIMISTS (Theatre Junction), WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINA WOOLF?, POPCORN, (Alberta Theatre Projects), DEATH OF A SALESMAN, CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, HOLIDAY(Theatre Calgary), THE PHILADELPHIA STORY (Manitoba Theatre Centre), STRANGERS ON A TRAIN, I’LL BE BACK BEFORE MIDNIGHT (Vertigo Mystery Theatre), TRAVELS WITH MY AUNT, MY FAIR LADY, (Citadel Theatre), PERVERT, SUBURBIA, LOOKING AFTER EDEN, COCKTALES (Ground Zero Theatre). Ryan was the recipient of the Betty Mitchell Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Lead Role for THE PILLOWMAN (Ground Zero Theatre/Hit & Myth Productions). Most recently Ryan played Robin Hood in THE MERRY ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD at Alberta Theatre Projects and Brendan in THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE (Ground Zero Theatre/Hit & Myth Productions). Ryan lives in Calgary with his wife Carolyn and his two daughters; Grace & Peyton. Ground Zero Theatre has quickly become an integral part of the theatre community in Calgary. Not only are we "the stage of the future stars" but we are also a leading choice for many professional artists who are looking for a challenge to their own creativity. It is not uncommon to see an actor's biography in a Theatre Calgary or Alberta Theatre Projects program to include a GZT credit.

Kevin McKendrick
Director

This is Kevin’s fifth production with Ground Zero Theatre and Hit & Myth Productions having previously directed URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL (with Mark Bellamy), THE PILLOWMAN, THE FULL MONTY, and THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE. Kevin works as a freelance director and producer; as well as teaching acting at Mount Royal University and the University of Alberta. Selected directing credits include: FROZEN (Sage Theatre), THE MERRY ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD (ATP), GLENN (Blacklist), BOY GETS GIRL, THE GOOD LIFE, and ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD (Theatre Junction), and OEDIPUS (Pumphouse Theatres). His productions of URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL, BOY GETS GIRL, and THE GOOD LIFE were all honored with Betty Mitchell Awards for Outstanding Production. Kevin has been nominated eight times for Betty Mitchell Awards in Calgary. He has also worked at Persephone Theatre (Saskatoon), Western Canada Theatre (Kamloops), Fringe Theatre Adventures (Edmonton) and Damfino Theatre (Vancouver). Kevin will next direct SPEED THE PLOW also for Ground Zero Theatre/Hit and Myth Productions. Kevin would like to thank his partner Leslie and daughter Jesse for all of their love and support.

Brent Rock

Brent is thrilled and chilled to be a part of EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL*. Glenda Stirling
Choreographer

Glenda Stirling is delighted to be back with Ground Zero Theatre and Hit & Myth Productions again! Glenda is a Calgary-based freelance director, playwright, choreographer and movement instructor at Mount Royal College. Currently she is completing an MFA in Theatre Studies at the University of Calgary, focusing on Laban Movement Analysis. For Ground Zero Theatre: THE MERCY SEAT, BLUE SURGE Elsewhere: UNITY 1918, RABBIT HOLE, VINCENT IN BRIXTON, GET AWAY (Alberta Theatre Projects), MUSIC FOR A CONTORTIONIST (Sage Theatre), WAIT UNTIL DARK (Vertigo Mystery Theatre), LILLIBET (Ship's Company Theatre), COME FLY WITH ME, CHEEK TO CHEEK (Lunchbox Theatre), DOLPHIN TALK (Betty Mitchell award – choreography - Quest Theatre). In 2004 Glenda participated in the Shaw Festival's Directors Program. The following year she returned to assistant direct & assistant choreograph FLOYD COLLINS for The Shaw. She has also choreographed for Springboard Dance and everything she directs – so it is very exciting not have to do both at once!

JESSICA NOTTELL

Jessica is delighted to be working yet again on such a hilarious show with a wonderful group of people. A theatre graduate from both Mount Royal College and the University of Lethbridge, Jessica is pursuing a full time career in the arts as an Actor, singer, dancer and choreographer. Her latest work was the self produced collective creation NEUROSES which previewed in February ’09 at the Motel Theatre. Other works includes ON THE RAZZLE, PICNIC, RED NOSES and SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER, (Mount Royal), HELLO HELLO, (University of Calgary), HONESTY, (Two Sheds Theatre and Downstage.) PETER HIGGINS
Necronomicon Book Design

This show will mark the seventh production of EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL that Peter has been a part of, beginning with the show's debut in Toronto in 2003. His roles during those productions have included Production Manager, Technical Director, Set/Props/Special Effects Designer, Head Carpenter and Assistant Stage Manager. Along with Matt Olmstead, Peter is the co-designer of the "Blood Delivery System" (BDS) which was the device used to shoot the stage blood all over the stage... and audience! Peter is a graduate of Queen's University's Film Studies programme, and is the President and co-founder of Queen's Players Toronto Theatre Group, a not-for-profit comedy troupe that has donated over $50,000 to charity over the last 5 years. He is married to former EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL Stage Manager, Amy Hopkins, and is the father of 6 month old Finn "Look who's evil now!" Higgins.

Jeffrey Chappell
Lighting Design

Jeff is thrilled to take on a project that encompasses his two favourite passions, theatre and the macabre! Since graduating with honours from the Theatre Arts – Technical Production program at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario Jeff has never looked back. He literally worked his way “around the world in 80 days” as Lighting Engineer for the Maiden World Cruise on Cunard’s legendary QUEEN MARY 2. It has been Jeff’s privilege to do lighting for THE ROYAL ACADEMY OF DRAMATIC ARTS, CUNARD, ONTARIO BALLET, SUZIE MCNEIL, OUTERBRIDGE MAGICAL MOMENTS IN TIME, GEORGE FOX and JOHN MCDERMOTT and to design lighting for KISS ME KATE, CITY OF ANGELS (Arts Huron) and MUSIC MAN, CATS (Marquee Theatrical). Jeff also carries an extensive background in special effects including designing for JUST FOR LAUGHS FESTIVAL TORONTO, MMVA 2008 (Toronto), NEW YEAR’S EVE (City of Brampton) and as a Production Manager for FESTIVAL OF FIRE (Toronto), JUST FOR LAUGHS (Montreal/Toronto) and WINTERCITY (Toronto). Active in promoting his love of live entertainment, when time permits, Jeff returns to the local high schools to tutor students in his craft. Effects Supervision

Bleeding Art Industries is an award-winning Calgary-based company focused on special effects and custom fabrication. Founded in 2002, some of its special effects credits include Terry Gilliam's TIDELAND, CBC's HEARTLAND, Worksafe Alberta's BLOODY LUCKY videos, GZT and H&M's THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE and EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL Calgary, Calgary Opera and the Banff Centre's world premiere FROBISHER, FREEZER BURN, and many more. It has fabricated creature and character effects and exhibits for many museums and tourist attractions including the Creative Kids Museum, the Calgary Zoo, and Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park. It is the recipient of two Best Special Effects Awards from the Alberta Motion Picture Industries Association, and won First Place for Best Exhibit in its category at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo in Orlando in 2008.

DAN SHEARD
Production Manager

Dan is very happy to be back with EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL for his third Canadian engagement, this time as the company’s Production Manager. Dan graduated from Humber College’s Technical Production program in 2003 and has spent the better part of his professional career in the Theme Park and Corporate/Rock n’ Roll world. Based out of Toronto, Ontario, Dan has spent the last 8 years at Canada’s Wonderland where he held the positions of Production Manager of Kingswood Music Theatre, and later, the Senior Operations Supervisor of the Technical & Event Services Department. Dan has also spent his entire career working for his good friend, the owner of Tekwurk Productions, as a Senior Technician, Crew Chief and Head Rigger. Big thanks to Ground Zero Theatre, Hit & Myth Productions and Keystone for bringing us crazy Toronto kids back to their Cabin In The Woods!

LUKE DAHLGREN
Production Supervisor

Luke Dahlgren has been a proud member of Ground Zero Theatre (GZT) since their very first production of SUBURBIA back in 1997. He has worked on various productions as a lighting designer, sound designer, technical director and now, production manager. He is very excited to be back in his hometown of Vancouver collaborating on EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL with all his new friends. Some of his favourite GZT credits include: SHOPPING AND F***ING, LOOKING AFTER EDEN, BASH: LATTERDAY PLAYS, PERVERT, JOHN DOE/JACK RABBIT, DOUGH: THE POLITICS OF MARTHA STEWART, THE FULL MONTY and the COCKTALES series (with Hit & Myth Productions). In his time away from GZT, Luke is the stage manager for the Rozsa Centre at the University of Calgary. He is also active as an instructor and technical director for various schools, theatre companies and dance ensembles. In his spare time, Luke can be found looking up at the stars or cheering his beloved Canadiens to victory. Enjoy!

CHRISTOPHER SCOTT
Technical Director & Audio Engineer

Chris Scott is excited to be back for his third production of Evil Dead: The Musical. Along with this run of EDTM, Chris has been the audio engineer for over 20 different musicals and live concerts including: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat with Theatre Aquarius, Hair at BISHOP STRACHAN Theatre, and The Canadian Tenors at MARKHAM THEATRE. He is the Head of Audio at Canada's Wonderland and was the Technical Director for the Paramount Stunt Spectacular. Chris wishes the cast and crew a long and successful run!

Bernie is happy to be returning to the evilest crew in show biz! This is his second time round on this show. For the 2008 Toronto production (Jeffery Latimer Entertainment) he was in charge of putting the boom in the boomstick! (sound effects). Heather is thrilled to be joining the Deadite entourage for the second time around, coming from the 2008 production of EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL at the Diesel Playhouse in Toronto. She has spent most of her career sidestage at the wonderful Kingswood Music Theatre, as well as getting her double dose of gore building Halloween Haunt - both for the Technical and Event Services department at Canada’s Wonderland. She holds a BFA from Ryerson University for Technical Theatre Production, and is also a certified Make-Up Artist graduating from Complections International Academy.

BRENDA PILATZKE
Wardrobe Runner

Brenda is thrilled to be a part of the amazing crew behind EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL. A recent University of Waterloo graduate, her UW credits include JULIUS CAESAR, MAD FOREST, ALICE (EXPERIMENTS) IN WONDERLAND, TARTUFFE, and the CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE. Finishing off her first season at Canada’s Wonderland this summer with SIGNED SEALED DELIEVERED, she is very excited to be in Vancouver with all these talented people. It’s great being able to escape and runaway with the Deadites on the road, seeing some old friend and being able to play with EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL. Having had several jobs with Ground Zero Theatre over the years. Selected production credits include JOHN DOE/JACK RABBIT (Ground Zero Theatre), TRANCE CANADA (Lunchbox Theatre), KILLER JOE (Ground Zero Theatre), and LITTLE MERCY’S FIRST MURDER (Ground Zero Theatre). Selected design credits include THE BEAR (Lunchbox Theatre), SEX, DRUGS, AND ROCK & ROLL (Ground Zero Theatre) and THE BOY’S OWN JEDI HANDBOOK (Alberta Theatre Projects). After a chance to play with the Candarian Demons, Ian will be returning to his somewhat average world at the University of Calgary (at least there will be less demons hopefully).
